About the band 

MARNIE‘s Acoustic band was formed in May 2005. At the time we were called ‘Aurora’ ,with Ben on Lead guitar. Ben then went on his way in Sept' to study music tech’ at Doncaster Uni’ ...Luckily I was introduced to the 'Reoffenders' band where I met the very talented Paul... We wrote songs, had so much fun and gig'ed from about Oct 2005 to Dec 2007 where we decided that amongst our best efforts to clone Paul, It just wasn't possible to extract his D n' A and with both bands becoming so busy...something just had to give...He will be dearly missed...

I am still working with musicians so that I can sing my little,big heart out...!!!

I especially love the sound of acoustic & electric guitar, congas, kick drum, didge and fiddle... and would love to entwine these sounds into my music at some stage. Mixed with a rock/funky vibe, with both 'gentle' and 'full on' sounds... I am still searching for likeminded people obsessed with music...

About  MARNIE: on lead vocals & I also play a bit of guitar too. 

My major passions in life are Music, Animals & Celtic Art’y stuff. I love Fire engines / firemen and Mint choc’ milkshake. (not at the same time though...although there’s a thought...!)

Ambitions:  to be happy and true to ones self, Play on the Pyramid Stage at Grassdenblurry, have a swimming pool one day, swim with Dolphins & impossibly, to be able to pee standing up, (would make life so much easier at festivals)

Campa vans Rule. Watch out, I’m a white van driver!   Mine runs on LPGas. I'm not daft, 56p per litre for Gas....how much is petrol? Get a gas converson...It's cheaper, runs better, yes you can find garages in Most places, & it's more environmentally friendly. Steve's Gas Power UK garage is Excellent & can fit & fix anything. Check them out on the 'Links' page...and no I'm not on commission! :)

My Favourite dog is an Akita. Think I was a fish in a previous life, cause I drink too much...he,he,Na, It's because I love water-swimming, diving, fish & all that jazz, but not really Jazz that much! 

I hate sweet corn & snappy Jack Russels.

Guns n’ Roses-Sweet Child o’ mine & Wild Thing are great songs with a history... I have many other favourites, but where do I stop...

I was born & grew up in Dorset, lived in Ireland for two years & moved to Devon at 16.

I have always sung from the age of dot, up until I hit teenage coolness.... I then took it up again ( the singing, not the coolness) in about 2001 after accidently singing at a Karaoke night (or is it Karayucky!). I entered talent competitions and from there gradually trained myself up to then go semi-prof’ in 2004. 

Dec’ 2003 was the first time I ever tried to play guitar & yes I’m still trying....

I have a wide range of music tastes going from almost one extreme to the other really. Musical influences are K.T.Tunstall. Alanis Morissette, Paramore, Pink... I grew up with Queen, Madonna, The Beatles, Elkie Brooks, Rolling Stones G n‘ R, ACDC...bla, bla, bla.... & mostly tunes off the radio.
